Fine-grained role-based access control for projects, tests, and admin functions.
Check Studio uses role-based access control (RBAC) with three built-in roles and support for custom roles on Enterprise plans.
Built-in roles
| Admin | Full access to all projects, billing, settings, and member management |
| Editor | Can create and edit tests, configure integrations, view all dashboards |
| Viewer | Can view dashboards, reports, and test results. Cannot modify anything. |
Custom roles (Enterprise)
Create custom roles with granular permissions per project, per test type, and per action. Example: "Can run tests but cannot edit CI config".
Audit
All permission changes are logged in the audit log with before/after state. Export logs for compliance reviews.
